From bubbly in the park to sips at the spa or salon, Albertans have more choices about how and where they consume, and more selection in stores, than ever before.
Since 1996, AGLC has been working to modernize regulations, reduce red tape, and improve its services. We’re committed to being socially responsible while also contributing to a more vibrant Alberta.
Learn about how AGLC is providing more liquor choices, services, and experiences for Albertans 18 and over to enjoy.
Over the past few years, AGLC has issued liquor permits for more innovative types of spaces. Spaces like spas, salons, barbershops, and designated public picnic sites. So now, you can make that toast or host that party in more places than ever before.
As the world has changed over the past few years, AGLC has responded quickly. Today, many of our services, like liquor-licence applications, can be done completely online. We’ve also expanded licensing options for at-home events, like liquor tasting parties and home liquor delivery from stores, apps and restaurants.
There are more breweries and distilleries across the province than ever before! Today, Albertans can enjoy products from over 236 local manufacturers and counting. We’ve also developed more types of liquor licences, like tastings at art markets and sales at farmers’ markets.
