AGLC offers the Gaming Information for Charitable Groups (GAIN) program to help Alberta charities better understand charitable gaming policies.

GAIN provides essential information to groups that conduct or want to conduct charitable gaming activities like bingos, casinos, pull ticket sales or raffles.

Where can I find more information on recent amendments to the Charitable Gaming Policies Handbook?

Gaming bulletins highlight changes to our policies and guidelines.

The Charitable Gaming Policies Handbook provides detailed information on general information, basic eligibility, eligibility for specific groups, general use of gaming revenue/proceeds and specific use of proceeds.

How do I know when I need a licence?

Eligible charitable groups need a licence to hold gaming event (casino, raffle, bingo and pull ticket).

What level of enforcement does AGLC have regarding gaming in Alberta?

Licensees and registrants are expected to comply with the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act, the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Regulations and AGLC board policies for activities authorized under a licence or registration. Refer to the Administrative Sanction Guideline for Violations table to view a guideline for sanctions the Regulatory Services Division may impose on a gaming licensee or registrant.
