AGLC Training Program Requirements

Whether you work in the gaming, liquor, or cannabis industry you may be required to take more than one of AGLC’s training programs. Check out the chart below to learn more about the courses and requirements.

Program

Who needs this certification?

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification is mandatory for all full- and part-time registered gaming workers and charity workers at casinos and racing entertainment centres including:

  • Games managers, casino managers and casino/REC general managers (or equivalent);
  • All charity advisors;
  • Table games workers (including dealer, pit boss, pit supervisor);
  • Slot workers (including slot attendant, slot cahier, slot supervisor, count room staff);
  • All security, surveillance, and compliance personnel;
  • Casino facility licensee/operator representatives; and
  • Paid charity workers (not including volunteers).

Program

Who needs this certification?

SellSafe certification is mandatory for the following full- and part-time staff:

  • Licensed premises owners who are responsible for directly managing a retail cannabis store;
  • Licensed premises managers, supervisors, retailers, cashiers and delivery drivers;
  • Security staff (directly employed or contracted by the licensee);
  • Direct supervisors of employees of a company contracted to provide security and
  • Managers, supervisors and all employees of a cannabis representative involved in the marketing, promotion and sales of a cannabis supplier's products.

Program

Who needs this certification?

ProServe certification is mandatory for the following full- and part-time workers at Class A, B, D, E, F, Duty-Free licensed premises and where liquor is provided under the authority of a Special Events Public Resale – Commercial licence:

  • Licensed premises owners who are responsible for directly managing a licensed premises;
  • Licensed premises managers, supervisors, retailers, bartenders, servers, greeters, drink ticket sellers, hosts and delivery service drivers;
  • Limousine and bus licensees, drivers and attendants;
  • Large-format bike operators and attendants;
  • Security staff (directly employed or contracted by the licensee) and owners and managers of a company contracted to provide security.

Positions where liquor is provided under the authority of a Special Event Public Resale - Community licence:

  • The licensee and designate(s) and
  • A minimum of 25% of all bartenders/servers on-site.

Full- and part-time liquor agents:

  • Persons registered with AGLC as a liquor agency and their employees, or a third-party agent acting on their behalf, whose duties include the sampling of liquor products.

Who needs this certification?

ProTect certification is mandatory for full- and part-time industry workers at a Class A Minors Prohibited premises and at a Commercial Public Resale Special Event in the following positions:

  • All individuals who manage or supervise security staff;
  • Security staff (directly employed or contracted by the licensee and
  • Owners and managers of a company contracted to provide security.

Class B large-format bike operators and attendants must also be ProTect-certified.

Program

Who needs this certification?

Reel Facts certification is mandatory for the following full- and part-time staff at premises where there are VLTs:

  • Owners, managers and supervisors and
  • All staff working at a liquor licensed premises having any involvement with patrons using VLTs.

Reel Facts certification is not required for registered gaming workers employed in casino facilities or racing entertainment centres with a Deal Us In Phase One certificate.

Who needs this certification?

Full- and part-time registered gaming workers and charity workers at casinos and racing entertainment centres require Deal Us In Phase One certification:

  • All games and casino managers;
  • Casino facility licensee representatives;
  • Pit and Count Room supervisors, pit bosses and dealers;
  • Directors and managers of security, security guards, surveillance managers and Monitor Room personnel;
  • Slot managers, supervisors and operators (attendants and cashiers);
  • Bankers, cashiers and chip runners and
  • Cash cage advisors and Count Room staff.

The following full- and part-time registered gaming workers at casinos and racing entertainment centres also require Deal Us In Phase Two certification:

  • Casino and REC managers, supervisors and
  • Security staff.

Note: Charity workers do not require Deal Us In Phase Two certification.

Full-time and part-time registered gaming workers in a licensed facility:

  • Hall managers, hall advisors and independent hall advisors;
  • Assistant hall managers and advisors;
  • Pull-ticket managers and sellers;
  • Callers, sellers/checkers and security guards;
  • Cashiers and
  • Bingo co-ordinators.
