What is a liquor agency?
In Alberta, liquor agencies represent liquor suppliers. They import and market the supplier's liquor.
To confirm the representation, an agency must sign and submit a form called a "Letter of Understanding".
The supplier must sign and submit a form called a "Letter of Authorization".
What is a liquor manufacturer?
A person who operates an establishment for making liquor in Alberta. Manufacturers in Alberta need a Class E liquor licence before they can start producing.
Newly-licensed Class E manufacturers are automatically set up with AGLC as both a "Supplier" and an "Agency."
