Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) is governed by the Access to Information Act and the Protection of Privacy Act of Alberta and is committed to creating a culture of transparency and openness.
Making an Access Request
To request access to information in the custody or control of AGLC please submit a formal request in writing, together with any applicable fees.
If you are unable to make a request in writing, please contact our Privacy Officer at 1-800-272-8876.
When making an Access request, you will need to:
- specify if you are looking for "Personal Information" (information about yourself or a person you are authorized to represent - no initial fee required) or
- "General Information" (any other information, including that of a third party - Note: there is a $25 initial fee required for requests for general information.)
- provide your name, address and a phone number we can use to contact you if there are any questions about your request
- be clear and include as much detail as possible when describing the records you wish to access to enable us to locate the record(s)
include a specific time frame, where possible, as this can often assist in speeding up the process
Correcting personal information
The Protection of Privacy Act gives you the right to ask that a correction be made if you believe there is an error or omission in any personal information AGLC may have.
A request to correct personal information must be made in writing and must include:
- your name, address and a phone number we can use to contact you if there are any questions about the request
specific detail about the information that you believe is incorrect and the requested correction

Personal Information Banks
Section 57 of the Protection of Privacy Act requires public bodies to publish a directory of Personal Information Banks (PIBs) and make this directory available to the public.
Section 57(1) of the Protection of Privacy Act defines “personal information banks” as:
“…a collection of personal information that is organized or retrievable by the name of an individual or by an identifying number, symbol or other particular assigned to an individual.”
