Policy Amendments – Hours of Operation
December 1, 2021
This bulletin is to advise all casino facility licensees and registered gaming workers of IMPORTANT AMENDMENTS to the Casino Terms & Conditions and Operating Guidelines (CTCOG). The following CTCOG policies are effective December 1, 2021.
- In keeping with Government of Alberta red tape reduction initiatives, these amended policies include changes that provide industry stakeholders with increased flexibility and efficiency in running their operations:
- Subsection 1.13.1 was amended to provide for the use of VLTs during the hours the location is open to the public and the Class A Minors Prohibited liquor licence is in effect. This amendment enhances the ability for casino facility licensees to tailor their options to their specific business needs.
- Subsection 1.13.2 was amended to provide casino facility licensees with the option to remain open on Christmas Day by choosing to either operate tables games and gaming terminals or just gaming terminals.
Please familiarize yourself with the amended policies, update your CTCOG as required, and ensure all affected staff are notified of the new requirement(s).
