A new NFL season features several new additions on Play Alberta

Bills and Rams highlight week one schedule as road to Super Bowl LVII begins.

The sports calendar hits another high this week as the first games of the NFL season take place. It all starts in Southern California where the Los Angeles Rams raise their Super Bowl banner ahead of their opener against the Buffalo Bills. However, the Bills come into the game as slight favourites (-1.5) over the defending champions.

With the new season, comes more choices for bettors on PlayAlberta.ca – the province’s only legal and regulated online gambling site. Different options for futures bets have been added, such as individual division winners and NFL MVP. Play Alberta also has plans to expand the player prop bet selections offered, which includes player touchdowns and yardage markets for the first time.

“Every sports fan knows that the start of the NFL season launches a very exciting and busy time in the world of sports and 2022 is no different. We are excited to expand the types of bets available to players Alberta’s only legal gambling website this season while offering the traditional choices they are used to and giving them access to AGLC’s best-in-class responsible gambling program, GameSense.”
Dan Keene, Vice President, Gaming, AGLC

On the eve of kick off, the three most bet teams to win the Super Bowl on PlayAlberta.ca all reside in the AFC: the Bills (+800, 8.9 per cent of future bets), Denver Broncos (+1500, 8.4 per cent) and the Las Vegas Raiders (+2900, 6.7 per cent). The NFC’s Green Bay Packers (+1100, 6.2 per cent) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+700, 5.8 per cent) round out the top five.

By using Play Alberta, money played in Alberta stays in Alberta. All revenue generated through Play Alberta goes to the provincial government to support valued programs and services that Albertans rely on every day. The website offers tools to users to help manage their gambling, including bet, loss and daily session limits and access to AGLC’s GameSense and Self-Exclusion programs.
