This bulletin is to advise all Host First Nation facility licensees and registered gaming workers of IMPORTANT AMENDMENTS to the Host First Nation Charitable Policies Handbook (HFNCCPH). The following HFNCCPH policies are effective December 1, 2021.

In keeping with Government of Alberta red tape reduction initiatives, the amended policies align with current regulatory practices, removes repetitive policy, and ensures efficiency in running their operations:

  • Section 1 Hours of Operation (i.e., hours of operation, and scheduling requirements, Christmas Day operations, and flexible slot hours, etc.) was amended to align with updates made to CTCOG.
  • Section 3 was amended to clarify role assignment through CasinoTrack and streamline position descriptions of charity workers to increase flexibility for HFN charities to adapt to local needs for these positions.
  • Section 4 was amended to update policies regarding handbook accessibility, condense Casino Facility and Service Agreement related policy and address advisor contract policy.
  • Section 5 has been amended to remove redundant policy that was covered under the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act (GLCA) and regulations, the Casino Retailer Agreement or the Casino Terms & Conditions and Operating Guidelines (CTCOG).

Please familiarize yourself with the amended policies, update your HFNCCPH as required, and ensure all affected staff are notified of the new requirement(s).
