Big-hearted and community minded, the Smoky Lake Agricultural Society’s' dedication gives the community a hub to host hockey tournaments, weddings, Ukrainian dance concerts and the weekly Farmer's Market. Like many small towns, our arena and community hall are run entirely by volunteers with very little municipal financial support. Due to grants and money we receive from AGLC’s charitable gaming revenue we been able to not only upgrade our facilities, but continue to offer our community recreational opportunities including the only artificial ice facility in the whole County of Smoky Lake. The arena is not only for physical well-being but is also place where people come to visit. Our hall is used by Ukrainian Dance, bingo for the seniors and weddings and funerals. Without support from AGLC, we would not be able to have an arena and hall of this caliber in our community.
