News Release

Play Alberta Sportsbook; now on Apple and Android

The official Play Alberta app is now available for sports bettors in the province. The Play Alberta app will be rolled out in phases, with the first phase focusing on sports betting features that are currently available on PlayAlberta.ca. Mirroring the website, the app will have over 50 sports and leagues, including the NHL, NFL, CFL, NBA and MLB.

Casino, lottery, instants and live dealer products will all be added in the second phase of its launch, which is expected in the first half of 2025.

Available through the Apple App and Google Play stores, the app will integrate PlayAlberta.ca’s responsible gambling features, including the GameSense and Self-Exclusion programs, giving players access to resources such as bet, loss and time limits and cool off settings.

“Mobile sports betting continues to evolve for Play Alberta with our new app, available to Apple and Android users, that optimizes their experience while accessing our product. In addition to unique, Alberta-based markets, the app gives bettors added security when signing up and using the platform, knowing that their personal and financial information are safe.”

Steve Lautischer, Executive Vice President, Business Development, AGLC

App users will be able to access the ‘My Account’ feature, which includes the ability to easily make seamless banking transactions, such as deposits and withdrawals and keep track of their available promotional sports bonuses.

Play Alberta encourages players to make healthy gambling choices. Anyone seeking more information can contact the GameSense Info Line at 1-833-447-7523 or the Alberta Health Services Addictions Help Line at 1-866-332-2322.
