Product Category Definitions, Seasonal Product Registration and Private Label Products

This bulletin is to advise liquor agencies and Class E Manufacturers of policy amendments to sections 3.1 and 3.12 of the Liquor Agency Handbook and section 4.1 of the Liquor Manufacturer Handbook.

Effective immediately, policy has been amended to:

• clarify liquor product categories for the purposes of product registration;
• address the registration of seasonal products;
• define what constitutes private label products; and
• specify where private label products may be sold.

The updated handbooks may be accessed on AGLC’s website at aglc.ca.

Please familiarize yourself with the amended policy and ensure all affected staff are notified of these changes.
