Cannabis Age Gating

This bulletin is to advise all cannabis licensees of an amendment to the Retail Cannabis Store Handbook (RCSH).

Effective immediately, Section 4.14 of the RCSH has been amended to enable retailers to use self-attestation as sufficient age gating procedures for their websites and social media content.

Retailers are still required to verify the age of patrons when delivering cannabis or for in-store pick-up of cannabis purchases made online using valid identification in accordance with section 4.4 of the RCSH.

The amended policy may be accessed on AGLC’s website at aglc.ca.

Please familiarize yourself with the amended policy and ensure staff are notified of this change.
