Policy Amendments – Flexible Hours – Slot Operations

This bulletin is to advise all racing entertainment centre (REC) facility licensees and registered gaming workers of IMPORTANT AMENDMENTS to the Racing Entertainment Centre Terms & Conditions and Operating Guidelines (RECTCOG). The following RECTCOG policy is effective November 1, 2021.
- In keeping with Government of Alberta red tape reduction initiatives, the amended policy includes changes that provide industry stakeholders with increased flexibility and efficiency in running their operations:
- Section 1.6 – Hours of Operation was amended to allow for slot machines to remain operational for up to 24 hours per day. This amendment enhances the ability for REC facility licensees to tailor their operations to their specific business needs.
Please familiarize yourself with the amended policy, update your RECTCOG as required, and ensure all affected staff are notified of the new requirements.
