Qualified Cannabis Worker Update

As of July 2, 2025, applicants for retail cannabis store positions or registered cannabis representative positions are no longer required to be certified as a Qualified Cannabis Worker (QCW) and do not have to submit an Application for QCW form. New employees will now be required to be certified in the SellSafe Staff Training Program within 30 days of their employment start date.

Update to ProTect Security Staff Certification Program

Please be aware that we are making updates to the ProTect Security Staff Certification Program effective Friday, April 24, 2026. You must complete the ProTect course, exam and survey by Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MST to avoid your program progress from being reset. If you have any questions, contact smartprograms@aglc.ca.
