AGLC Staff Updates

March 17, 6:00 pm MDT - COVID-19 - Direction to AGLC employees

As the Premier announced earlier today in response to the rapidly changing situation: Alberta has declared a state of emergency under the Public Health Act.

AGLC employees should be prepared to start to work from home where operationally feasible. Divisions will establish work schedules that ensure that all required services continue to be delivered to Albertans. Managers will contact their staff directly to provide and coordinate next steps; We ask that you wait for direction from your supervisor/manager.

Employees looking for information on working remotely can find information on the Vine.

We are still open for business and will look for ways to support staff to work-from-home or remotely wherever possible. Things to remember:

For staff who may work remotely:

  • Ensure you have charging cords, tablets, or laptops.
  • DO NOT take home monitors, keyboards, or docking stations. This is not permitted by IT.
  • You will be paid with a special leave code, CVD.

For staff who need to physically stay at work as we transition, your manager will work directly with you.

  • If there are a number of staff that work in the same position, we may look at options to rotate shifts for employees who need to come in.
  • If you are continuing to work in the office/worksite, your time should be coded as REG (Regular time).
  • There will be peaks where some employees are required to come in during certain times. Your manager will advise if this applies to you. (eg. Timekeeping)
  • You are free to wear jeans/casual wear to work.

If you don’t have all the details (i.e. computer access, assigned work, etc.), please be patient, your manager will work with you on next steps.

When directed by your supervisor/manager and prior to leaving the office/worksite:

  • Provide your manager with your contact information (i.e. personal email or phone number). This is in case your access does not work.
  • Complete your timesheet for this pay period. Your time should be coded as CVD.
  • Do not forward business phones to another line as it causes issues. Change your voice mail to indicate you will be checking messages regularly.

Timekeepers:

  • We will open the system early on Thursday, March 19, at 9:00 a.m. for timekeepers to enter time for payroll. This is a requirement to be completed by 4:00 Friday, March 20. Timekeepers may not have access to perform this remotely, you may be required to come into work to complete. Please work with your supervisor/manager.

Method for Contacting IT Service Desk:
