FIRST Robotics Society

Charity Story

FIRST Robotics Society provides premier robotics competitions designed to attract and develop the next generation of innovators, engineers, and science and technology leaders. We provide mentor-based science and technology programs designed to foster 21st-century life skills and spark interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math for students aged 6 to 18 across Alberta. Teams are supported by industry mentors to learn skills and enhance understanding in areas of engineering, design, fabrication, computer programming, and project planning, thus building technical and critical life skills such as problem solving, time management, leadership, communication, and self-confidence.

Charitable gaming revenue has helped FRS acquire the equipment necessary to host competitions allowing these students the opportunity to showcase their skills and inspiring them to further their education. We have also been able to add valuable equipment to our makerspace to allow teams in our programs access to tools they might not otherwise be able to afford.
