Habitat for Humanity

Charity Story

Their Story

Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta works in eight communities from Olds, to Carstairs, to Pincher Creek, bringing people and communities together through affordable home ownership. During the last 28 years, we have supported over 270 families and 635 children. In 2016, 23 families we able to move into their new homes where 63 children will be able grow up in a safe and comfortable space.

Habitat homes are a safe haven. Prior to becoming Habitat owners, our families often describe living in hazardous housing conditions. Kids are at risk of injury from poor construction or environmental toxins. Overcrowding is also a concern that can cause stress and can show up as stomach ailments or mental health issues.

Our partnership with AGLC, our lifeline, enables us to help our communities raise funds to build these homes, and accommodate these families in need.
