Edmonton… The winners of more than $30 million from the Nov. 16 Lotto 6/49 draw were presented with a cheque at the St. Albert Lottery Prize Payout Centre. The newly-minted Millionaires have taught at the Red Deer College in the Plumber Program for between seven and 23 years.

Edmonton… Forty-two pubs, clubs, bars and lounges received accreditation from the Best Bar None program for their commitment to responsible service and safe operations. They will receive awards at a formal ceremony on November 23 in Edmonton. “Best Bar None builds on the government’s commitment to make our communities safer,” said Ron Liepert, Minister of Finance also responsible for Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
- All Woody's products in glass bottles being recalled - November 17, 2011
Edmonton…The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) is now calling for all types of Woody's Alcoholic Vodka Beverages to be removed from sale across the province after glass particles were found in some bottles in Manitoba and Ontario. This is an expansion of last week's recall of Woody's brand Mexican Lime Alcoholic Vodka Beverage.

Edmonton…Albertans are advised not to consume certain Woody’s Mexican Lime alcoholic vodka beverages as they may contain glass particles. The recall includes Woody’s Mexican Lime products with lot numbers BB014/06/13 and BB22/08/13 printed below the neck of each bottle. Woody’s Mexican Lime beverages are sold in packages of four 330 ml bottles. For more information, view the Canadian Food Inspections Agency recall notification or call 1-800-442-2342.

awareness of responsible gambling and the availability of prevention and treatment programs if gambling becomes a problem.
- 2012 Best Bar None Accreditation underway in Edmonton - August 19, 2011
Edmonton… After a successful pilot in Edmonton's nightlife establishments, Best Bar None recently accepted applications for a second year. The assessments of licensed premises that applied for accreditation will begin in September.
- Four face charges in province's largest contraband tobacco seizure - April 15, 2011
Edmonton… The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) has laid charges against four individuals for violations of provincial tobacco legislation. The charges result from an investigation related to the January 5 seizure of contraband cigarettes on the Montana First Nation. The initial estimate was 14 million cigarettes, but a thorough inventory of the product showed nearly 16 million contraband cigarettes were seized. The cigarettes were valued at just over $3 million in lost tax revenue to the province.

Edmonton… On January 5, investigators from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC), in cooperation with the RCMP, confiscated approximately 75,000 cartons of contraband cigarettes with a potential value of $3 million in lost tax revenue to the province.
